What are the most dangerous high school sports for boys?

Hello everyone! I'm a confused sophomore looking for some guidance. Sports can not only keep you healthy but also give you a competitive edge in college applications, right? Thing is - I want to survive to make it there, so could anyone advise me on which high school sports pose the greatest risk for boys?

Certainly, physical activities do come with inherent risks, but it's great to see you considering safety alongside your keen interest in athleticism. Now, the level of danger involved in a sport often depends on the safety measures taken and the specific conditions of play, but statistically, according to compiled injury data:

1. Football holds the top spot for high school sports injuries, majorly due to its physical and high-contact nature. These injuries can range from concussions to sprains, and fractures.

2. Wrestling and lacrosse are next on the list; both have relatively high rates of injury. Wrestling can lead to skin infections and shoulder injuries, while lacrosse often sees ankle sprains and concussions.

3. Ice hockey and rugby also rank high, due to the nature of these contact sports.

Again, remember that the risk of injury can be mitigated with the right gear, training, and adherence to the rules of the sport. So, if there's a particular sport you enjoy, don't necessarily shy away from it because of these statistics. Be sure to undertake the necessary precautions, and you'll not only have fun but increase your attractiveness as a college applicant as well!
