What's the most popular college in the US?

Hey there! Pretty straightforward question here. Just trying to get a sense of which college is considered the most popular in terms of student preference or reputation. Are we talking Harvard or is it another one that many rush to apply? This doesn't necessarily serve a make or break purpose for me, since it's about fit, but I'm curious to know!

The concept of "popularity" can be tricky as it could refer to a number of factors including application numbers, selectivity, academic prestige, or alumni satisfaction. In terms of sheer application numbers, UCLA often takes the lead. As of 2023, UCLA received the greatest number of applications among all U.S. colleges, with over 140,000 students applying for their freshman class.

Harvard, on the other hand, has a strong reputation and is known for its high selectivity rate which means a lot of students also apply there. But considering its small size, Harvard gets fewer applications than some larger public universities.

Finally, in terms of alumni satisfaction and outcomes, a school like Princeton often rates very highly in rankings, based on feedback from its graduates.

So, depending on what criteria you're using to judge "popularity," different schools might come out on top! I hope this provides the insight you were looking for!
