What are the most impressive internships for high school students?

Hey guys, currently a junior and thinking about ways to level up my resume. Given we have summer break coming up soon, I was wondering if you could help me in finding internships that might look really good for college applications. Could you suggest any specific internship or types of internships that would be impressive for a high school student to have?

Absolutely! Internships indeed provide an opportunity to gain valuable work experience and skills while still in high school. They're a great way to distinguish yourself during the college application process as they reflect your initiative, passion, and commitment towards a certain field.

There's a multitude of options for internships, but I would recommend tailoring your choice to the areas you are most interested in. For example, if you're considering a career in medical research, you might look for research internships at a local university or hospital. If you're into tech and programming, companies like Google have summer internships for high school students like the Google Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI).

For students interested in public service or politics, internships or volunteer positions at a local government agency, political campaigns, or nonprofits would be beneficial. Some students even get to intern on Capitol Hill for a summer, which is extremely prestigious.

In the business field, Bank of America has a Student Leaders program that's a paid internship at a local nonprofit.

Simply showing that you've had professional experience in your area of interest can demonstrate dedication and maturity to colleges. So, the key here is finding an internship suited to your interests and career aspirations. In the end, it's not where you intern but what you make out of the experience that makes it impressive.
