Jobs Without A College Degree

As much as I want a degree, the cost of college is a lot to consider. So I started thinking, what type of jobs can potentially make the most money without necessarily needing a college degree? Are there any promising fields or career paths that I should look into?

Sure, there are definitely viable, well-paying career paths that don't necessarily require a college degree. Here are a few examples:

1. Trade Professions: Electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians often make respectable salaries. These jobs usually require vocational training or an apprenticeship, but not a traditional four-year degree.

2. IT and Coding Jobs: Some companies are emphasizing skills and portfolio work over formal education, particularly in roles like web development and software development. Coding bootcamps and self-taught programming abilities can get you far in this field.

3. Real Estate: Becoming a real estate agent requires required State certifications but not a bachelor's degree. The earning capacity can be quite substantial especially in hot housing markets.

4. Sales: Many high-ticket sales jobs, such as in real estate or tech, do not require college degrees, but they do require strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

5. Entrepreneurship: Starting your own business is always an option and isn't dependent on earning a degree.

6. Commercial Aviation: With the right certifications, commercial pilots can earn a high salary. Obtaining those qualifications can be costly though, but still usually less than a college degree.

Bear in mind, these jobs still require a significant amount of training, dedication, and often, years of experience to start seeing high income levels. For instance, being proficient in a highly sought-after programming language or earning your real estate license requires an investment of time and often money, as does starting a business. But these are all options to consider if you're searching for an alternative to a traditional four-year college path.
