High school football teams: Which get the most recruits?

One of the reasons I decided to join my high school's football team is to potentially catch the eye of college recruiters. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the most recruited high school football teams are, nationwide? Wondering if I should consider transferring. Thanks a lot!

Transferring schools solely for sports purposes is a big decision, and there are a lot of factors to consider beyond just the potential for recruitment.

While specific schools like Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California and St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida do catch the eye of college recruiters due to their strong football programs, it's important to bear in mind that recruiting isn't just about the school — it's about the player as well. Top recruiters are always interested in great athletes no matter where they play. Although certain schools are known powerhouses, many recruits also come from less well-known programs.

If you're serious about playing football in college, consider how you can stand out at your current school first. Strong academics, leadership on your team, impressive stats, and excellent video footage can make you an appealing candidate no matter where you play. Transferring schools might provide a boost if you join a high-profile program, but it could also put you in a more competitive environment where you get less playing time, which could impact your recruitment prospects as well.

It's always a good idea to open a conversation with your current coach about your goals and see if they can provide guidance. If you're really serious about pursuing this, you might also want to explore enlisting the help of a recruiting service or consulting with a sports counselor to make the best decision for your future. Always try to go where you'll get the best balance of both sports and academics.
