How important are state championships in college admissions?

Hey, I'm from a high school in Texas and our football team is pretty dominant in the state. We've won numerous state championships and it's a big part of school life and culture. I'm wondering: Do the successes and failures of our sports teams have any significant impact on college admissions? Or is it just another minor detail that colleges gloss over?

From what I understand, while winning state championships or being part of a successful sports team can be a testament to your skills, abilities, teamwork, and leadership, it is unlikely to have a significant impact on college admissions unless you're being recruited as a student-athlete.

Most colleges review applications holistically, taking into account a wide range of factors, including academics, extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, and personal essays, among others.
