Seeking the most prestigious college

Hello there, as I'm thinking about my applications, prestige is one of the factors I'm considering. It's tough to determine definitively, but can anyone tell me which colleges are usually considered the most prestigious? Appreciate the help.

When it comes to prestige in higher education, the Ivies often hold top positions, namely Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, which have historically been ranked among the top institutions in the United States. Beyond these, other Ivy League colleges are also highly distinguished, including the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Brown University, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, and Cornell University.

Beyond the Ivy League, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are also known worldwide for their prestige, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields.

Outside of these, the University of Chicago and Duke University are other non-Ivy institutions that could be classified as prestigious.

In the Liberal Arts realm, colleges like Amherst College, Williams College, and Swarthmore College have strong reputations and are known for their rigorous academic programs.

It's also worth noting that certain universities have particularly prestigious specific programs or departments.
