Each AP exam has two sections: multiple-choice (MCQs) or grid-ins and free response. For AP World, you would have multiple choice questions and free response questions (FRQs) which include Short Answer Questions (SAQs), a Document-Based Question (DBQ), and a Long Essay Question (LEQ).

For the AP World History Exam:

- 40% of your score comes from the MCQ section, which consists of 55 questions.

- 20% comes from the SAQ section, which consists of 3 questions.

- 25% comes from one DBQ, which asks you to analyze seven documents related to a particular issue or topic.

- The remaining 15% comes from a LEQ where you pick and answer one of three essay prompts.
