The Common Application typically releases the upcoming year's essay prompts in late January or early February. As of right now, it is still too early for the 2024-2025 application cycle prompts to be released. Keep an eye on the Common Application website or their social media channels for updates.
That said, historically, the Common App tends to retain most or all of the prompts from the previous year. So, you can certainly start brainstorming and even drafting based on the current prompts. Keep in mind that one of the prompts is generally fairly open-ended—"Share an essay on any topic of your choice"—which effectively allows you to write about anything you want.
Remember to pick a topic that is meaningful and personal to you, and also speaks to your character, values, or passions. Avoid cliché topics unless you have an incredibly unique perspective or personal spin.
