Good safety schools in the US?

I’m a junior starting to make my college list. While I have my dream/ reach schools down, I'm still trying to compile a list of good safety schools. Could anyone recommend some schools with relatively high acceptance rates but also good academic programs, preferably in the arts or humanities? I'm open to both public and private universities.

Absolutely! Here are some suggestions for safety schools that have well-regarded programs in the arts and humanities.

For public universities:

1. University of Iowa: Known for its strong programs in writing and visual arts.

2. Arizona State University: Offers a wide range of humanities programs and has a high acceptance rate.

3. University of Oregon: Excellent programs in liberal arts with a wide array of artistic concentrations.

For private universities:

1. DePaul University: Located in Chicago, DePaul is known for its strong performing and visual arts programs.

2. Pace University: Offers a varied selection of art and humanities programs and is situated in NYC, which could present lots of opportunities.

3. Lindenwood University: Known for its expressive and studio arts programs.

Please remember that a safety school should not only match your academic qualifications but also be a place you'd be happy attending. Visiting campuses, talking to current students, and immersing yourself in the community as much as possible will be hugely beneficial in garnering this insight.

Make sure to use acceptance rates and average accepted student profiles (like GPA and SAT/ACT scores) to guide you, but don't solely rely on them. Schools also consider a variety of other factors such as essays, extracurricular activities, and course rigor.

I hope this gives you a starting point for your research. It's great to see that you are diversifying your college list.
