Understanding AP test score release dates

Hi all, I'm taking a couple of AP tests this year and I'm trying to understand when we get to see our scores. I’ve heard it’s in July, but I'm not sure of the exact date. Can someone help me out with information about when College Board generally releases AP test scores?

Certainly! AP test scores are typically released by the College Board in early July, though the exact date varies from year to year. But keep in mind that not everyone will see their scores on the same day. College Board releases scores on a rolling basis over a period of a few days, based on geographical location. For example, students in the Eastern U.S. might receive scores before those in the West.

Once scores are available, you'll be able to view them by logging into your online College Board account. Individual AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, and a score of 3 or higher is generally considered passing. However, the specific score needed to earn college credit or placement can vary by institution, so be sure to check with any colleges you're considering for their specific policies.

Remember, while AP scores can be a great way to demonstrate subject expertise and earn benefits like college credit or placement, they're just one factor colleges consider, along with your grades, course load, extracurricular involvements, and more. Good luck on your AP exams!
