BU acceptance rate in recent years?

Trying to gauge my chances of getting into Boston University here. Can anybody provide me with a heads-up about the BU acceptance rate trend in recent years? I know it's getting more competitive each year but I want to keep my hopes realistic.

Boston University is indeed becoming increasingly competitive. For the 2020-2021 application cycle, Boston University reported an acceptance rate of approximately 18.5%, while the acceptance rate for the 2021-2022 cycle dropped slightly to 18.2%.

And, if we go back a bit further, during the 2017-2018 application cycle, BU reported an acceptance rate of around 22%. This means there has been a notable decrease within the past few years.

However, please keep in mind that acceptance rate alone should not be your sole indicator for your chances of admission. Boston University, like many schools, reviews applications holistically. This means that in addition to grades and test scores, they also consider factors such as extracurricular activities, recommendations, and personal essays. They're looking for students who are a good overall fit for the university community.

Remember, even with competitive universities like BU, every qualified applicant has a chance of admission. Stay positive, and make your application as strong as possible in all areas, not just academics.
