Need help with SAT Math, any subtly hard questions I should look out for?

Look, I'm trying to prepare for my SAT and Math's always tripped me up. I've got the basic content covered but, y'know, those tricky questions that look easy but aren't really. So please, could anyone share some hard SAT Math questions that caught you off guard? Or any topics that tend to have sneakily difficult questions?

Understanding the concepts in the SAT Math section is only half the battle; the other half is being able to spot the usual tricks in the questions the test throws at you. Based on feedback from various students, there are several things you should consider when preparing:

1. Word Problems: Sometimes the test makes a relatively straightforward problem harder through complex wording. Pay close attention to what the question is really asking. You might be required to do an extra step or two that isn't explicitly mentioned.

2. Fraction Operations: Problems dealing with fractions can be tricky, especially when they involve adding, subtracting, or dividing fractions. You might be asked to work with large fractions or complex fraction operations, which can be easy to misunderstand or make a mistake on.

3. Algebraic Manipulation: There can be questions that need a fair bit of algebraic manipulation which is not directly stated. You might need to rearrange or factor an equation to find the solution, even if the question seems straightforward.

4. Inconsistent Units: This is a common 'trick' where the quantities given in the problem are in different units (miles and feet, for example) and you'll need to convert them to the same unit before you can solve the problem.

5. Geometry problems involving circles and polygons: Geometry questions involving the area or circumference of a circle with another shape inside, like a square, can be tricky. These questions may also involve ratios or percentages.

Practice is key, so working through many different kinds of problems is one of the best ways to prepare. Remember that the SAT Math section is more about understanding the problem and less about computational difficulty. And always, always double-check your work! Mistakes are often made not because the math itself is difficult but because of misreading the question or making a simple mistake in your calculations.
