UCSC Transfer Acceptance Rate

Hi! I'm aiming to transfer to UCSC from my community college. I'm kind of nervous cause I don't know what my chances are. Does anyone have any info about their acceptance rate for transfers?

The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) has a fairly high acceptance rate for transfer students. The exact rate might vary from year to year, but in general, you might expect it to be around 65%.

This rate might seem relatively high, especially when compared to the acceptance rates for first-year students at UCSC, but remember, the transfer admission process also focuses on how well you've done in your community college coursework, and how well-suited those courses are for your intended field of study at UCSC.

Also, if you're a California community college student transferring to a UC, there's a specific transfer admission guarantee (TAG) program for six UC campuses, including UCSC, provided you meet certain eligibility criteria.

However, while statistics can be helpful, they don't paint the full picture. Your acceptance to UCSC will be based on a multitude of factors, including your academic performance, your chosen major, the rigor of your coursework, and how well your academic goals align with what UCSC offers. Keep working hard and use every resource available at your community college to bolster your transfer application. You've got this!
