William and Mary's Out-of-State Acceptance Rate?

Hello! I'm an out-of-state student and I'm really interested in applying to William and Mary. I've tried to find their out-of-state acceptance rate, but I didn’t have much luck. Does anyone have any info on this?

William and Mary, like many colleges, doesn't officially publish their out-of-state acceptance rate separately from their overall acceptance rate. However as a public institution in Virginia, William and Mary is influenced by a state policy that fetters out-of-state admissions to approximately 30-35% of each incoming class.

This means that the competition for out-of-state applicants could be tougher considering the larger pool of students fighting for a smaller number of spots. While it's difficult to precisely estimate, the out-of-state acceptance rate might be slightly lower than their overall acceptance rate.

However, it's important to remember that admission isn't purely a game of numbers – they're considering your academic qualifications, extracurricular involvement, essays, letters of recommendation, and more. Your individual profile and how well you align with the school’s values can make a big difference. So, don't let this discourage you from applying if William and Mary is a good fit for your educational goals.
