Best CSU's for my potential major?

Hi everyone! I'm currently a junior in high school and the Cal State system is certainly on my radar for post-graduation plans. I'm not exactly sure about my major yet, but it's most likely going to be something along the lines of Business or Computer Science. Could anyone clue me in on which CSUs are strongest for these respective areas? Thanks in advance.

Cal State system has an array of excellent universities that cater to different strengths. For your potential majors of Business and Computer Science, there are a few standout choices.

1. San Jose State University (SJSU): Known for its proximity to Silicon Valley, SJSU has a highly respected Computer Science program that exposes students to the latest technology and innovative practices. Additionally, their College of Business is nationally recognized.

2. Cal State Long Beach (CSULB): The computer science program at CSULB is solid, and the College of Business Administration is one of the University's strongest schools, offering various concentrations for students seeking a business degree.

3. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo: Although it's often noted for its engineering programs, Cal Poly SLO's Orfalea College of Business is highly esteemed and provides an experiential education where you "learn by doing." They also have a strong Computer Science program which is part of the College of Engineering.

4. Cal Poly Pomona: Similar to its sister university in San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly Pomona offers a robust "learn by doing" style education. Their College of Business Administration is renowned, and the Computer Science program is part of the College of Engineering, which is one of the strongest fields at the university.

These are just a few of the standouts within the CalState system. It's essential to consider fit regarding location, size, and culture outside of program strength, however. Campus visits — or virtual tours — if possible, and further research can be invaluable in finding the right college for you.
