Converting SAT score to ACT?

Here's a weird one. If I got a 1200 on the SAT, what would that translate to in ACT scores? Is there a simple conversion or is it more complicated than that?

There isn't a 1-to-1 SAT to ACT conversion because these two tests are based on different scales and slightly different content. However, many education professionals have developed tables to provide an estimation. Now remember, these conversion charts are just guidelines and won't perfectly predict your ACT score based on your SAT score (or vice versa), but they can give a ballpark figure.

Your 1200 on the SAT roughly aligns with a 24 or 25 on the ACT. These values are not perfect and you should treat them as approximations.

Your best bet to know your ACT score would be to actually take a practice ACT test. This will give you the most accurate understanding of what you might score on the real test, and it will also give you a feel for the questions and timing of an ACT test which is quite different from the SAT.
