Confusion about AP Calc BC Exam Calculator

Preparing for the AP Calc BC exam and I'm a bit confused. Can I use a calculator throughout the test, or are they only allowed in certain sections?

For the AP Calculus BC exam, calculators are allowed, but only for certain sections. The test consists of two parts: the multiple-choice and the free-response sections.

In the multiple-choice section, there are two parts:

- Part A is 30 questions long, for which calculators are not allowed, and you will have 60 minutes to complete this part.

- Part B contains 15 questions, for which calculators are allowed, and you have 45 minutes to complete this section.

Similarly, in the free-response section:

- Part A has two problems, for which calculators are permitted. You will get 30 minutes to complete this part.

- Part B consists of four problems, for which calculators are not allowed and you have 60 minutes to solve these questions.

So, in some parts of the test, you'll definitely be allowed to use a calculator, but in other parts, you will not be able to. Make sure to practice under these conditions to get comfortable for the actual exam day.
