Harvard’s early decision acceptance rate?

I've been looking into applying to Harvard under their early decision program. While I know Harvard is extremely selective, I can't seem to find the specific early decision acceptance rate. Does anyone know what it typically looks like? Hoping it might improve my odds slightly.

Harvard offers an Early Action (EA) program, not Early Decision (ED). It's major to keep in mind as EA isn't binding, so you are not obligated to attend if accepted, whereas ED is binding and you must attend if accepted (unless the financial aid award is insufficient).

Now onto your question, the Early Action acceptance rate for Harvard varies slightly from year to year, but it has historically hovered between 13-15%. These rates are significantly higher compared to their regular decision rates that are usually around 3-5%, so applying early can indeed increase your odds of getting admitted.

However, remember that the EA applicant pool tends to be extremely competitive, often filled with top students from all over the world. Also, these students often have very strong profiles that are ready by November, demonstrating a high level of preparation and commitment.

In sum, applying EA may offer a statistical advantage, but it's essential to ensure that you're presenting the best possible application and not rushing to meet the early deadline if you feel your application needs more time.
