Top state schools in California for CS?

Hi guys, I'm a current junior in Cali. For monetary reasons, I'm looking into state schools a bit more heavily. What are the top state schools here that have good computer science programs? Any advice would be appreciated!

In California, both the University of California (UC) system and the California State University (CSU) system offer strong computer science programs. Here are some particularly notable options:

1. UC Berkeley: Known for its Computer Science and Engineering program, UC Berkeley is a public university that consistently ranks among the top in the nation in this field. It has both a strong theoretical foundation and practical application, with many opportunities for research or internships in the area.

2. UC San Diego: UCSD has a highly ranked Computer Science and Engineering department that offers unique specializations including Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Computer Graphics, and Human-Computer Interaction.

3. UC Irvine: UCI's Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Sciences is well-regarded, with specialty areas including Informatics and Networked Systems.

4. San Jose State University (SJSU): Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, SJSU is well-connected with numerous tech companies offering plenty of internship and networking opportunities. Its computer science program is also well-established and robust.

5. California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO): Known for its "learn by doing" philosophy, Cal Poly SLO offers a hands-on Computer Science program that is widely respected.

Remember, the "top" school will depend on what you're particularly interested in (like specific areas of computer science), the learning environment you thrive in (large university versus smaller college), location, and other elements of fit. Best of luck with your college search!
