Absolutely, it's wonderful to hear about your interest in studying animation! There are a variety of colleges renowned for their animation programs.

1. California Institute of the Arts (CalArts): Located in Valencia, California, CalArts is regularly ranked as one of the top schools globally for animation. They offer both BFA and MFA degrees in animation; this program allows students to learn different aspects of animation including character animation, experimental animation, and more. The faculty is comprised of professionals from the animation industry, so you'll be learning from people with practical experience.

2. Ringling College of Art and Design: Located in Sarasota, Florida, Ringling is recognized for its Computer Animation program. The program trains students in shaping characters and narratives, and it also provides the technical skills needed for 3D animation. Ringling graduates have been involved in many high-profile animated films.

3. University of Southern California (USC): The USC Cinematic Arts' John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts offers courses in not just animation but also visual effects, 3D modeling, visualization, virtual reality, and game design.

4. School of Visual Arts (SVA): Located in New York City, SVA offers a BFA in Animation and their alumni work across the board, from major animation studios to popular television shows. The program focuses on providing students with a strong foundational skillset in animation.

5. Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT): Offers a BS program in 3D Digital Design, which focuses on the creation of 3D computer graphics and interactive applications.

What makes these programs stand out is a combination of the breadth and depth of the curriculum, experienced faculty who may have worked in the industry, and strong industry connections which can lead to internships and job placements. Graduates from these schools have gone on to work in some of the top animation studios, such as Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks.

Remember that fit is also important–consider how each school matches your personal preferences in terms of size, location, general culture, and cost, among other factors. Additionally, whether you want to specialize in any areas within animation can also impact your decision.
