Searching for Remote Internships for High Schoolers

Hi folks, I want to get started on improving my resume early, and I’m looking to explore some remote internships – something that can work with my high school schedule. Can anyone point me in the right direction or share their experiences?

There are several platforms to search for remote internships for high school students, depending on your interests and the industry you're looking to get into. They include websites such as Internship.com, or LinkedIn, where you can identify and connect with companies that offer remote internships. Many of these platforms allow you to filter by industry, part-time or full-time, unpaid or paid positions, etc.

Keep in mind that remote internships can vary in experience. Some remote internships in the same field may offer different opportunities than others. You should research each internship carefully, read reviews or experiences from previous interns (if available), and consider how the internship fits into your overall goals.

Networking is another powerful tool. You may want to reach out to people in your desired field or industry. Find professionals on LinkedIn or within your existing network (like family or friends) and ask them about any opportunities they may know of. You can also reach out to teachers or school administrators, as they often have a wide network of connections.

Additionally, don't forget to consider non-profit organizations or local businesses that might offer opportunities for remote internships. Sometimes the smaller organizations are more open to creating internship opportunities for high school students.

Lastly, it's okay if you don't have a lot of experience at this stage. Internships are about learning and gaining experience. Take the initiative to put yourself out there and you might be surprised at what you receive in return. Be open to a variety of experiences – you never know where they could lead you later in your career. Good luck!
