Online Programs for High School Students?

Hey all! I'm a junior in high school and am looking for productive ways to spend my time outside of school. Does anyone have recommendations for any online programs specifically designed for high school students that could help me build my skills, maybe in coding or something else STEM-related? Any personal experiences would be appreciated!

Certainly, there are various online programs available for high school students where you can foster your interest in STEM fields. Coding and computer science are excellent choices as they are both practically useful and intellectually stimulating.

1. Codecademy: This interactive platform offers a variety of coding languages to learn, including Python, Java, and HTML/CSS. You can start with the basics and work your way up to more advanced topics at your own pace.

2. EdX: This platform offers online courses from many different universities, including Harvard and MIT. They have a variety of computer science and coding courses that you might find interesting.

3. Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers courses in various subjects, but their computer programming course is specifically notable. They provide step-by-step video tutorials and practical exercises. The self-paced nature means that you can tailor the content to fit your schedule.

Beyond these, you might also want to consider online STEM programs like The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) or The Junior Academy by The New York Academy of Sciences. These offer more comprehensive experiences, including mentorships and research opportunities.

Remember, most of these courses offer a free level of access, so you can try them out and see which suits your learning style the best before committing. In any case, exploring these platforms and courses should indeed help bolster your skills and give you added exposure to STEM disciplines.
