SAT testing availability

Hey all! I'm getting ready to plan when I should take my SAT, but I'm somewhat confused about when the tests are offered. Can anyone advise on when I can take the SAT test during the year?

Hello! The SAT is currently offered seven times a year in the United States: in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. The specific days may vary slightly each year, so it's best to check the College Board's website or their Bluebook™ App for the exact dates.

Don't forget that besides scheduling the actual test date, you'll also need to factor in registration deadlines, which typically fall approximately a month before the test itself. Late registrations are usually accepted for about two more weeks, but there's an extra fee for that.

Keep in mind too that not every test center offers the SAT on every test date, so when you're planning when to take the test, be sure to figure out which test centers near you offer the SAT on the dates you're considering.

Last thing to remember is that you must take the test while physically at a school or testing center - even though the SAT went fully digital, it's not possible to take it from home. Happy studying!
