Easy engineering degree?

Hey everyone! I'm a junior in high school and I've been thinking about possibly going into engineering because I’ve heard it’s a good field to be in. But honestly, I'm not super strong in math or science, so I'm wondering if there are any 'easier' engineering majors out there that still have good career prospects. Does anyone have any recommendations or insight on which engineering degrees might be a bit less challenging?

While every engineering discipline has its challenges, some tend to have a more manageable learning curve, especially if you are not naturally inclined towards math and hard sciences. Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Software Engineering are often considered somewhat less math-intense relative to others.

Environmental Engineering is a good choice for students interested in biology and chemistry, and it tends to have less focus on physics and calculus compared to other disciplines. This field deals largely with issues of waste management, pollution control, and sustainable development, and there is high demand for professionals in this sector.

Industrial Engineering is another pathway that's often seen as less rigorous in terms of its mathematical intensity when compared to something like Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Industrial engineers focus on optimizing systems and efficiency in various businesses, which involves a lot of problem-solving and management skills.

Software Engineering is a slightly different beast as it is more focused on coding and software development. The math used in this field is often quite different from what you would see in other types of engineering and some find it more approachable.

However, all engineering degrees will require a firm understanding of math and science principles. Remember, the real consideration should not only be the difficulty of the degree but also whether the field truly interests you. Engineering is a demanding discipline, and it's the passion for the subject that helps many students persevere. Try to shadow some professionals in the field or take related courses to see which type of engineering you find engaging before making a decision.
