Forensic Degree Colleges?

I'm super interested in forensic science and I'm trying to figure out which colleges have strong programs in this field. Could anyone recommend schools known for their forensic degree programs or share any personal experiences? I'm open to hearing about colleges of all sizes!

Certainly! It's fantastic that you're looking into colleges with strong forensic science programs.

1) Pennsylvania State University: Penn State offers a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science that is well-reputed in the field. The program provides an education in the natural sciences, criminal justice, and law. It also offers opportunities to gain practical experience through internships.

2) University of Central Florida: UCF offers a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science. The program offers a wide choice of electives and allows students to focus on areas of interest such as molecular biology, pathology, and toxicology. UCF also provides opportunities for students to conduct original research in forensic science.

3) Texas A&M University: Texas A&M offers a Bachelor of Science in Forensic and Investigative Sciences. The program is accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). It's designed to prepare students for careers in forensic science laboratories or to further their education in law or medicine.

4) Loyola University Chicago: Loyola offers a Forensic Science degree designed to prepare students for careers as laboratory analysts in forensic criminalistics. The faculty includes nationally recognized experts, and students get opportunities for internships at places like the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and U.S. Customs.

5) University of New Haven: The Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at New Haven is a leader in the field. It offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum in the latest forensic methods and sciences.

It's also useful to know that some schools may not offer a forensic science major, but will offer a concentration or minor in forensic science, within broader programs such as criminal justice or chemistry.

Finally, while evaluating these programs, it might be helpful to look into faculty, internship and research opportunities, lab facilities, partnerships with local law enforcement, and the success of their graduates. Remember to look for programs that have been accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accredication Commission (FEPAC).
