How do AP score release dates usually work?

I'm a junior taking a few AP classes this year, and I'm trying to figure out when I can expect to get my scores. I know it's probably different every year, but is there a typical date or time frame when AP scores are released? Also, how's the experience of getting your scores? I've heard some students mention refreshing websites or being in suspense. Just curious about what to expect, and any tips on how to stay chill until they come out would be awesome!

Sure, happy to provide some insight! Typically, AP scores are released in early July, generally starting the second week. However, the exact release date can vary slightly from year to year. The College Board releases scores in batches over a period of several days, usually moving from east to west across the United States.

Now, about the experience: on the day(s) the scores are released, it can be a bit of a frenzy. The College Board's website may slow down due to the high volume of visits, and you may need to refresh the page multiple times to see your scores. It can indeed be suspenseful, but try not to stress out too much. Your scores won't define your future, and no matter what, the experience you gained from taking these challenging courses is valuable.

Staying chill amidst this can be tough, but there are strategies to help. You could try distracting yourself with fun activities, spending time with friends, or maybe even starting to prepare for your next academic venture. Remember, whether or not your scores match your expectations, the knowledge you've gained is more important than the result of one set of tests.
