Which Pennsylvania schools have top-ranked nursing programs?

I'm considering nursing as a career, and since I live in Pennsylvania, I thought it would be convenient to look into schools around here. Does anyone know which nursing schools in Pennsylvania are considered the best? I'm interested not only in the quality of education but also in clinical opportunities and job placement rates after graduation. Thanks for your help!

In Pennsylvania, you have several strong options for pursuing a nursing degree. Let's start off with the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) which is consistently ranked as one of the top nursing schools in the country. Their School of Nursing is known for integrating classroom learning with clinical practice from the very beginning, giving students a lot of hands-on experience. They also have an impressive job placement rate.

Another excellent choice would be the University of Pittsburgh. Their School of Nursing is nationally recognized and provides numerous clinical rotations and research opportunities. Students can specialize in a variety of fields within nursing which can lead to unique job opportunities after graduation.

Penn State's College of Nursing is another solid option. The program offers a strong curriculum with plenty of opportunities for clinical experience. Penn State's wide-reaching network and strong reputation can be beneficial when hunting for jobs after graduation.

Finally, Thomas Jefferson University has a very high NCLEX pass rate (the NCLEX is the test you must pass to become a practicing nurse) and post-graduation job placement rates. Thomas Jefferson also has a range of other healthcare programs, across the College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, and College of Population Health, so if you're interested in connecting with peers who will be working in healthcare in other capacities one day, Thomas Jefferson could be an especially good fit for you.

Remember to visit each school's website to get more details about their programs. Pay attention to the specifics like curriculum, course requirements, faculty, student services, and partnerships with hospitals or medical facilities for clinical practice. You might want to consider reaching out to the department or admissions office for any additional inquiries or to possibly arrange a visit. Good luck with your search!
