Exploring Rutgers' Virtual Campus Tour

Since visiting in person is still a bit tricky for me, I'm considering a virtual tour of Rutgers University. Can anyone share their experience with the virtual tour, if you’ve taken it? I’m really curious about how comprehensive and interactive it is – does it give a good sense of the campus atmosphere and facilities? Also, are there opportunities to ask questions during or after the tour? I'd love to hear some feedback before scheduling one.

Engaging in a virtual tour of Rutgers, or any university, is an excellent way to get a firsthand feel of the campus and its facilities. While it won't exactly replace the experience of physically being on campus, the virtual tours are designed to be as inclusive and interactive as possible.

The virtual tour provides a thorough view of the Rutgers campus, building interiors, dining halls, dorm rooms, and recreational facilities. You can even "step inside" some of the classrooms and libraries. Many have reported that the panoramic-like view it offers gave them a realistic perception of the campus layout.

In terms of interactivity, most of the time you can navigate freely within the platform. You can choose which buildings or faculties you want to explore, move around once inside, and usually zoom in on areas that especially catch your interest. Oftentimes, the tour is supplemented with clickable icons providing additional information about specific locations or facilities.

As for asking questions, while the virtual tour itself may not have a direct real-time Q&A feature, you can take note of your questions and concerns as you go through the tour. You can then raise these questions during virtual information sessions or live webinars that Rutgers holds regularly. In some cases, you can email your questions to the admissions office. They're usually more than happy to help prospective students gain a clearer sense of what life at Rutgers is like.

Remember that while a virtual tour gives you a visual idea of the campus, there are many other factors to consider when choosing a college. Researching Rutgers' academic programs, and student life, and considering your fit at the university is also essential. However, the virtual tour is a great step towards knowing the campus better. Enjoy your virtual visit!
