Differences between NCAA Divisions I and II- can someone break it down?

I'm pretty good at soccer and I'm hoping to play in college, but I'm not sure about the distinctions between NCAA Divisions I and II. Could someone explain the differences, mainly regarding commitment and scholarships?

Hey there! It's great to hear about your soccer skills and college aspirations. Basically, Division I schools typically have larger athletic budgets and more athletic scholarships to offer compared to Division II. However, this often means a higher level of commitment for Division I athletes, including more practice hours and a more rigorous schedule overall. Division II still offers a competitive level of play, but with a better balance between athletics, academics, and other college experiences. Scholarships in Division II are also available but tend to be less in quantity and amount than Division I. If playing soccer in college is a top priority, but you want a more balanced college experience, Division II could be an excellent choice. Good luck with your decision!
