Which Colleges Are on the Jersey Shore?

I’m looking into the possibility of attending a school on the Jersey Shore. Does anyone have recommendations for colleges in that area? I'm curious how the beach lifestyle influences campus life and academics at these schools. Any input on the pros and cons would be awesome!

There are several colleges situated in or very close to the Jersey Shore that could offer the beach lifestyle experience. Three schools that might interest you are Monmouth University, Stockton University, and Georgian Court University.

Monmouth University is right on the shore in West Long Branch. It's a mid-sized private university, known for its business and communication programs. Having the beach nearby definitely adds a unique charm to the campus life. The OceanFirst Bank Center stadium even offers views of the ocean. On the flip side, the cost of living can be high in this area given its appeal.

Stockton University is located in Galloway, about a 20-minute drive from Atlantic City and the beach. It offers strong programs in areas like Environmental Science, which takes advantage of the nearby coastal environment. The unique location does influence some academic offerings. However, while you'll get a bit of the beach lifestyle, keep in mind it's not as embedded in a major beach town like Monmouth.

Georgian Court University is in Lakewood, which is a bit more inland but still an easy drive to various beaches. It's a small private university known for its education and social work programs. So, while you may not get an immediate beach experience, it's within reach for a simple weekend trip.
