What should I know about living on the College of Wooster campus?

I've been looking into the College of Wooster and am really interested in campus life there. I'm curious about what the dorms are like and what kind of social activities or clubs are popular. Also, is it easy to get involved in campus events? Having a lively campus life is important to me, so any insights or experiences would be super helpful!

The College of Wooster offers a vibrant campus life, with a wide range of opportunities for involvement. Regarding the dorms, there is a mix of options available. First-year students are housed in traditional residence halls, which are typically suite-style with shared bathrooms. As you move up in years, you'll find options to live in themed houses, Greek housing, or apartments.

As for extracurriculars, Wooster has around 120 student organizations ranging from academic clubs to performing arts groups, community service organizations, and sports clubs. A few popular ones include Wooster Activities Crew, which plans campus-wide events, and Model United Nations, which competes at conferences across the country.

The student body at Wooster is generally highly engaged in campus events. Wooster's unique Independent Study (I.S.) program culminates in a campus-wide celebration called I.S. Monday. During this event, students present their yearlong projects, which is a highlight for many. Additionally, the college has a tradition known as the "Arch," where graduating seniors walk towards Kauke Hall and tap the arch for good luck. Campus traditions like these emphasize the tight-knit community at Wooster.

Remember, getting involved is often as simple as attending club meetings or signing up for activities at the start of the semester. Many students find that being part of these organizations greatly enhances their college experience. So, whether you're interested in drama, politics, sports, or almost anything else, you'll likely find a way to get involved at Wooster.

It's also worth noting that Wooster is located in a small town, which can provide a strong sense of community but may have less options for off-campus activities compared to a college in a big city. However, the college frequently organizes off-campus trips to nearby cities like Cleveland for anyone looking to explore a bit further.
