Top nursing programs in Southern California?

Hi all, I'm considering studying nursing and I'm particularly interested in staying in Southern California for school. Does anyone know which universities have the best nursing programs in the area? I'm hoping to find a program that's well-regarded and offers good clinical placements. If you've attended or know someone who has been through a SoCal nursing program, I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

Sure, Southern California has several universities that are well-regarded for their nursing programs.

First off, there's the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Their School of Nursing is considered to be one of the top in the nation and they offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees. You'd get to work with faculty who are leaders in the nursing field and benefit from their extensive research.

University of California, Irvine's (UCI) Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is another solid choice. The program at UCI focuses on community and public health nursing, health promotion, and disease prevention which could be appealing depending on your interests.

San Diego State University (SDSU) also has a substantial nursing program. They offer multiple entry routes into nursing from traditional BSN programs to an online RN to BSN program for those who are already Registered Nurses.

University of San Diego (USD) is reputable too. Their Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science offers a program known for creating future nursing leaders.

Remember that the best nursing school for you also depends on your personal needs and goals in addition to the school's reputation. I highly recommend visiting the different campuses, talking to current students or alumni, and reaching out to admissions advisors to get a better sense of each program. You might spot unique opportunities or feel a stronger connection with certain schools that could influence your decision.
