What are some interesting scholarships for high school students?

I'm currently a junior in high school and starting to look into scholarship opportunities for when I apply to college. I'm wondering if there are any unique or interesting scholarships out there that aren't the typical merit-based or need-based ones. I'm particularly interested in scholarships for niche hobbies or specific talents that I could apply for. Any suggestions or personal experiences would be super helpful!

There are countless scholarships out there, each with its own unique set of criteria and requirements. Specifically catering to varied hobbies and talents, some are as unique as you can imagine. Let me share a few of them:

1. Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded by The Gallery Collection to students who design and submit the best holiday-themed greeting card. If your talents lie in art or graphic design, this could be a perfect fit for you.

2. Duck Tape Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest: For students who are planning to attend their high school prom, this scholarship provides an unusual challenge. The goal is to create your prom attire entirely out of duct tape. The couple with the most impressive outfits wins a significant college scholarship.

3. National Marbles Tournament Scholarship: If you're a champion marbles player, you might be in luck. The National Marbles Tournament awards both a male and female tournament winner with a scholarship each year.

4. Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship: Aimed at students who have promoted vegetarianism in their communities or schools. If you're a committed vegetarian, they want to hear about it!

5. Zolp Scholarship: This one's incredibly niche, it's for students attending Loyola University Chicago, with the last name Zolp, and they must be Catholic. Obviously, this will only apply to a tiny handful of people, but the unique nature of the scholarship might give you an idea of just how specialized these can get!

Remember that many of these scholarships have early deadlines, so be sure to keep track of them and apply as early as possible. Good luck with your scholarship search!
