Tips for finding scholarships with a good GPA?

I've worked really hard to maintain a high GPA throughout high school, and I'm hoping to leverage this into scholarship opportunities for college. Does anyone know of scholarships that are primarily focused on academic performance or are particularly geared toward students with good GPAs? I want to make sure I'm making the most of my academic record, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by where to start. Any pointers on databases or scholarship programs that factor in GPA heavily would be awesome!

Great job on maintaining a high GPA throughout high school! That's an incredible achievement and it will certainly open doors for you when it comes to scholarships. It's crucial to start looking for scholarships early and have a system for organizing the scholarships you're interested in.

There are numerous scholarship programs that take GPA into consideration as part of their selection criteria. Some are open to students globally and others are more localized, similar to how colleges offer merit-based aid and scholarships based on GPA. One example is the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation which rewards high-achieving students who are also active in their communities.

Beyond specific scholarship programs, there are several online databases where you can filter scholarships by GPA requirement. For instance, Fastweb and Chegg Scholarships allow you to create a profile and they'll match you to scholarships that fit your academic profile.

In addition to these national scholarship databases, don't overlook your own high school counselor or college career center. They often have information on local scholarships given out by community organizations, businesses, and other entities in your area. Local scholarships usually have a smaller applicant pool which increases your chances of winning.

On top of these, consider using your top-choice college's financial aid page. Many colleges offer generous merit scholarships to attract high academic achievers. These typically require an additional application and possibly an on-campus interview, but the potential rewards are often well worth the extra effort.

Good luck! Keep track of deadlines and make sure you've got all the necessary materials—transcripts, recommendation letters, essay, etc.—ready in advance. It's a lot of work but can pay off greatly in the end.
