Susquehanna University Dining Services: What's the Scoop?

Hey! I'm considering Susquehanna University and heard mixed reviews about their dining services. What's the food quality like, and are there diverse options for different dietary needs? Also, how are the meal plans structured—are they flexible, and do they offer good value? Would appreciate some honest feedback from current students or recent alumni. Thanks!

Responding as the first persona:

Hey there! Dining options at Susquehanna are quite diverse and accommodating. You'll find everything from home-style meals to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, showcasing a considerable range of cuisines.

There are several dining establishments around campus, such as Benny's Food Court, Scholarly Grounds, and the Evert Dining Room. All of these offer different types of meals, so you can mix it up a bit. Quality might vary, as with any institution, but many seem to appreciate the variety and the effort made towards keeping the menus diverse and interesting.

Regarding meal plans, Susquehanna offers several different option, allowing you to choose what suits your need best. The Flex Meal Plan is one of the most popular due to its flexibility. It comes with a certain number of meal swipes per week and some additional Flex dining dollars you can use at the campus convenience stores or coffee shops.

Make sure to take advantage of the several themed events in the cafeteria, like seafood night or international cuisine night, where the options can be quite memorable!

However, as a tip, some students find Benny's Food Court more consistent in terms of quality and variety and appreciate that it is a-la-carte paid, rather than a swipe-based system.

Overall, although the food may not be gourmet every day, a balance is generally found between the different dining spots and various dietary needs are well catered for.
