Finding Scholarships for Non-US Citizens: Any Advice?

Hey everyone! I'm a non-US citizen attending high school here, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to find scholarships that I'm eligible for. I know my options might be a bit limited since a lot of them are for U.S. citizens only. If anyone has experience with this or knows where I can look for scholarships specifically aimed at non-citizens, I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks so much!

Sure thing! One of the resources you might want to check out is your high school guidance or college counseling office. They should have a list of scholarships available and can provide information on which ones are available to non-U.S. citizens.

Another thing to do is to take advantage of college or university scholarships. Many institutions have scholarships specifically set aside for international students. You can usually find detailed information about these scholarships on a school's financial aid webpage. Some universities may automatically consider you for these scholarships when you apply, while for others you may need to submit a separate application.

Professional and community organizations can also offer scholarships to international students. Organizations related to your area of interest or ones based in your home country but operating in the U.S. might hold opportunities.

Lastly, you might want to look at private databases like "International Education Financial Aid" (IEFA). They list scholarships exclusive to non-US citizens like the "International Peace Scholarship" and the "Fulbright Foreign Student Program".

It will demand a bit of extra legwork but with a combination of resources, you should be able to find scholarships that are open to you. Remember to begin this process as early as possible and don't shy away from applying to as many scholarships as you are eligible for. It increases your chances of securing some financial assistance and every little bit does help. Good luck!
