Where can I find scholarships for Asian American students in 2023?

As an Asian American student, I'm looking for scholarships specifically for 2023 to help with college tuition. I know there are some programs aimed at supporting students from minority backgrounds, but I'm not sure where to start my search. Does anyone have recommendations for scholarships focused on Asian American students? I would love any information on deadlines, application requirements, or previous experiences with similar scholarships.

Absolutely! There are numerous scholarships aimed at Asian American students. On top of this, keep in mind that there are also eligibility criteria beyond ethnic background, such as academic achievement, field of study, community involvement, etc.

The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) is the nation's largest non-profit organization devoted to providing college scholarships for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). They have multiple scholarship programs, with differing deadlines and application requirements, so you'll want to check their website for the most accurate information.

The Against The Grain Groundbreaker Leadership Scholarship and the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) scholarships are also worth looking into. Both of these scholarships lean towards students who have shown leadership or who are interested in the field of journalism, respectively.

The U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) provides the Bruce Lee Scholarship for Asian students who can demonstrate financial need and who have a 3.3 GPA or above. They award up to $5,000 and the application usually opens in the fall.

Lastly, the Asian Pacific Fund administers 10+ scholarship programs, with specific criteria varying from scholarship to scholarship.

For more scholarship options, there are various databases available online where you can filter scholarship opportunities according to ethnicity, major, etc. Keep in mind to be alert for scholarship scams though - legitimate scholarships will never require a fee to apply.

Remember, scholarships are just one part of the financial aid picture, so be sure to also fill out the FAFSA to see if you qualify for other types of federal financial aid.

Best of luck in your search!
