How many scholarships can you apply for during high school?

I'm currently a high school junior and starting to think about college scholarships. I'm curious about how many scholarships I can apply for. Is there a limit to how many I can put my name in for, or is it just limited by what I can handle application-wise? I'm trying to figure out a strategy for tackling applications as I'm interested in both big and small awards to help cover college costs. Any advice or experiences would be super helpful!

There is technically no limit to the number of scholarships you can apply for during your high school career. The limit mainly comes from the time and effort you can spare for scholarship applications. Therefore, you can apply to as many scholarships as your schedule allows and if you meet the eligibility requirements for each scholarship.

When crafting your scholarship application strategy, keep in mind that both large and small scholarships can have their advantages. Large scholarships may provide a substantial contribution to your college costs, but they tend to be more competitive due to higher numbers of applicants. On the other hand, smaller scholarships might have fewer applicants, and applying to several of them could add up to a significant amount.

One pro tip is to keep organized and plan your time wisely. You can create a spreadsheet to track deadlines, award amounts, and eligibility requirements. Make sure to prioritize those with deadlines approaching soon or scholarships for which you are a strong fit.

Also, tailor each application to the specific scholarship's expectations and criteria. Customizing your applications can increase your chances of winning, even with high competition. For example, if a scholarship emphasizes community service, highlight your related extracurricular activities or service projects in your application.

Remember, the effort spent on scholarship applications can pay off significantly if you win, so it's worth putting in the time and effort. Good luck with your scholarship search!
