When do regular decision results come out for colleges?

As I'm going through the college application process, I'm a bit unsure about the timeline for regular decision results. I know that some students applying early action or early decision get to hear back sooner, but I'm opting for regular decision for most of my applications. Can anyone tell me when colleges usually release those decisions? Any tips on how to manage the wait would also be appreciated!

As a general timeline, most colleges release their regular decision results in mid to late March, though this can vary depending on the institution. For instance, some colleges might start releasing decisions as early as February, while others may push into early April.

The exact dates are often posted on the college's admissions website or sent via email to applicants as the decision date approaches. So, it's a good idea to regularly check your email inbox and the spam/junk folder just in case.

While waiting for regular decision results can be nerve-wracking, there are some proactive steps you can take to manage this period. Firstly, try to stay connected with your high school community. Whether it's participating in clubs, sports, or other activities, staying engaged will help the time pass more quickly. Secondly, continue to focus on your academics and maintain your grades, as colleges can revoke offers of admission if your grades drop significantly in the second semester of your senior year.

Finally, take this time to reflect on your college options. Consider factors such as academic programs, campus culture, location, and financial aid potential. Creating a pros and cons list for each school can be a useful exercise. Also potentially start planning visits to some of your top choices for once you receive your decisions. This way, you'll be able to make a more informed decision when the time comes to commit. Best of luck!
