Where to Find Scholarships for Computer Science Majors?

I'm planning to major in computer science, and I'm on the hunt for scholarships that could help reduce my future college expenses. I've done some Google searches but am feeling a bit lost with the sheer volume of information. Are there any specific scholarships or organizations that focus on computer science students? Also, if anyone has tips on making a strong scholarship application for this field, I'd really appreciate it!

In terms of specific scholarships for computer science students, there are several out there. Here's a short list:

1. The Microsoft Tuition Scholarship: Microsoft provides a one-year scholarship to undergraduate students pursuing computer science and related STEM disciplines.

2. The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is for female students studying computer science who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement as well as a passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science fields.

3. The Palantir Future Scholarship: This scholarship supports underrepresented students across racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, veterans, those from low-income backgrounds, and individuals who identify as women.

4. The BHW Group Women in STEM Academic Scholarship: A $3,000 scholarship offered to women who are pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree and are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

5. The Stokes Educational Scholarship Program (NSA): Designed for high school seniors planning on majoring in computer science or computer/electrical engineering, this $30,000 a year NSA scholarship provides a package offering tuition and guaranteed employment after graduation.

As for tips on making the best application, find ways to express your passion for computer science through your essays and interviews. Discuss any personal projects you've worked on, coding competitions you've entered, or clubs you've contributed to. Any internships, summer programs, or coding boot camps are also great to mention.

Ensure your essay is well-written, free of grammar errors, and clearly grounds your passions, goals, and what sets you apart from others. Highlight achievements related to computer science but also your contributions to your community or school.

Letters of recommendation from science/math teachers, or better yet, from someone who can speak to your aptitude in computer science, could be very beneficial.

Also, in addition to the sources mentioned above, don't forget to look at local businesses/community organizations and your own college's financial aid office. They could very well have additional scholarship resources you can tap into.

Wishing you all the best on your college and scholarship quest.
