Where can I find the best merit scholarships for out-of-state students?

I'm trying to go to school out of state, preferably without the financial burden. Does anyone know the best universities that offer great merit scholarships to out-of-state students?

Sure, many universities offer substantial merit scholarships to out-of-state students. Here are a few recommendations:

1. University of Alabama: They have an excellent reputation for providing generous merit-based scholarships. For example, the Presidential Scholarship offers out-of-state students full tuition for four years.

2. University of Arizona: Their merit scholarship program, Arizona Tuition Awards, can cover a significant portion of the tuition costs for out-of-state students who meet certain academic criteria.

3. University of Florida (UF): UF's Lombardi & Stamps Scholarships provide support for out-of-state tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, and also includes enrichment funds for things like study abroad or research opportunities.

4. Florida State University (FSU): Has an out-of-state tuition waiver program along with numerous merit scholarships that are very generous.

5. Temple University: Their Scholarship program includes full-tuition scholarships (the President’s Scholars) for high-achieving out-of-state students.

It's always a good idea to check each university's financial aid website for the most up-to-date scholarship opportunities and requirements. When looking for merit scholarships, consider your extracurricular activities, as well as your academic records; schools often consider both for merit-based scholarships. Also, remember that you often need to apply for these scholarships separately from your college applications, so keep track of the different deadlines. Lastly, keep in mind that many scholarships require maintaining a certain GPA in college to keep the scholarship for all four years.
