What's the Curriculum Like at West Point Military Academy?

I'm doing some research into West Point. Could anyone shed some light on what the curriculum is like there? Is it heavily focused on military training, or does it balance with other academic studies as well?

West Point, officially known as the United States Military Academy (USMA), is a federal service academy where academics, military training, and physical fitness are highly integrated into its curriculum.

West Point's academic program is comprehensive and well-rounded, covering both technical and non-technical fields to cultivate versatile leaders. They offer more than 40 majors and an even wider range of courses. The first two years typically consist of core courses that include a broad range of disciplines such as mathematics, sciences, humanities, and social sciences. This mandatory core curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in the sciences and liberal arts.

In terms of military training, this is a commitment that students, or "Cadets", live from day one. It's embedded in daily life, including formal leadership education and experiences designed to build military, physical, and character development.

Lastly, physical fitness is a crucial part of being a cadet. All cadets participate in inter-collegiate, club-level, or intramural athletics and must meet the academy's annual physical fitness exams.

The program at West Point maintains a balance. Its academically rigorous program complements the military training and physical requirements, ensuring graduates are well-equipped leaders both intellectually and physically for their roles in the U.S. Army. It's a demanding but gratifying journey that benefits those up for the challenge.
