What are some majors offered at the Annapolis Naval Academy?

I'm considering applying to the Naval Academy in Annapolis and wonder what kinds of majors they offer. I'm interested in both STEM and non-STEM fields. Anyone know what the options are like?

The United States Naval Academy at Annapolis offers a variety of majors across both STEM and non-STEM fields for their midshipmen. All of the majors at Annapolis fall under a Bachelor of Science degree, even the non-STEM ones, because of the technical needs of the Navy and Marine Corps professions.

In the realm of STEM, there are quite a few offerings including but not limited to Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. They also offer programs in Cyber Operations and Information Technology which can provide a great pathway into the booming field of cybersecurity.

On the non-STEM side, several majors fall within the scope of Humanities and Social Sciences. These include English, History, Economics as well as Political Science.

There are also interdisciplinary majors such as Operations Research (which blends Math, Science, and Engineering principles to decision making) and Oceanography.

The Naval Academy also offers Language majors with a focus on areas of strategic importance for the nation. These include Arabic, Chinese, and Russian among others.

Remember, whichever major you choose, the primary goal of your education at the Naval Academy is preparation for leadership roles in the Navy or Marine Corps.
