Application numbers for the Naval Academy?

Do any of you know how competitive admissions is at the Naval Academy? Specifically, I'm interested in how many people apply each year. Trying to gauge my chances and see how tough the selection process is.

Admissions at the United States Naval Academy, like with the other service academies, can indeed be competitive. In recent years, the Naval Academy typically receives around 16,000 applications each year. From these applications, about 1,200 are offered admission, meaning the acceptance rate hovers around 11%.

However, the competitiveness doesn't just come from the sheer number of applicants but also from the requirements and qualifications needed for admission. Beyond just your academic performance and standardized test scores, the Naval Academy also takes into account your physical aptitude, character, and medical qualifications.

Moreover, to apply to the Naval Academy, you need a nomination, most commonly from a U.S. Representative or U.S. Senator. This requirement can add another layer of competition because you would effectively be competing against others in your district or state for that nomination.

With these factors in mind, I'd recommend focusing on improving and showcasing your strength in academics, leadership, and physical fitness, and doing extensive research to understand the nomination process. Remember, each applicant's journey is unique, and many paths can lead to serving in the Navy or Marine Corps.
