Does the United States Naval Academy superscore SAT scores?

I'm trying to understand how the Naval Academy evaluates SAT scores. Do they superscore, taking the highest sections across multiple test dates, or do they have a different approach? Any insights would be appreciated as I prep for applications.

The United States Naval Academy does indeed superscore the SAT. This process involves taking the highest score from each section across multiple SAT tests and combining them to calculate the highest possible composite score for an applicant.

So, say you took the SAT twice. On the first test, you scored higher on the Reading and Writing section, and on the second test, you scored higher on the Math section. The Naval Academy would take your highest Reading and Writing score from the first test and your highest Math score from the second test and combine them. This combination, or superscore, is what they will consider in the admissions process.

Remember to send all your SAT scores to the Naval Academy so they can calculate your superscore. Also, keep in mind that while superscoring can enhance your academic profile, the Naval Academy also takes into account other factors during the admissions process, such as academic achievement, leadership experiences, athletics, and character.

Lastly, take advantage of the digital SAT structure to focus your preparation. For example, you essentially get about 71 seconds per question in the Reading and Writing modules, and about 96 seconds per question in the Math modules. This knowledge can help you form an effective study and test-taking strategy.

Best of luck with your SAT preparation and Naval Academy application!
