Which military jobs aren't combat-related?

I'm interested in joining the military after high school, but I'm more inclined toward non-combat roles. What options are there for jobs in the military that aren't focused on fighting? Would love to know more about what they involve.

Sure, several military roles don't necessarily involve combat. Here are some options to consider:

1. Medical Services - Most branches of the military will offer roles in areas such as nursing, medical support, mental health services, and more. One of the additional benefits of pursuing this track is the potential for military assistance with medical education costs.

2. IT and Cybersecurity - The military, much like every other industry, is dependent upon technology and protecting its systems from cyber threats. If you have a knack for technology, serving in IT, networking, or cybersecurity could be an engaging path.

3. Logistics - The military requires a massive amount of supply chain coordination to function. Serving in a role related to logistics can be challenging and rewarding.

4. Public Affairs/Media - Each branch has public affairs needs, including managing social media, writing news releases, and more.

5. Legal & Paralegal services - There are opportunities to work in the JAG Corps which provides legal services and advice to the military.

6. Engineering - Depending upon your skills, there may be roles in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.

7. Human Resources - Many branches of the military have human resources departments intended to manage personnel and benefits.

8. Intelligence Analysts - These roles center around processing and evaluating intelligence information to assist in operations planning, among other things.

Remember that every role is interconnected and contributes to the wider mission of the military. Before getting into any military role, you should do thorough research, and perhaps seek out current or former servicemen and servicewomen to get their insights about the options you're considering.
