Are there great side jobs for those in the military?

I'm considering joining the military but want to know if there are great side jobs that military personnel typically take on. I'm hoping to have a backup or additional income source. Any advice or experiences would be helpful!

Certainly! It's great that you are planning your career with the military, as well as considering additional income sources. Many service members pick up side jobs to supplement their military income, and the best jobs often align with your military duties or long-term career goals. Here are some good examples:

1. Tutoring: If you are academically inclined, tutoring can be a great part-time job. You can use your knowledge and skills to tutor students in various subjects. Online platforms make it easier to connect with students across the country.

2. Freelance work or consulting: Depending on your specialty in the military, you may be able to offer your skills as a consultant. For example, if you're in tech, you might be able to do freelance coding or IT consulting.

3. Fitness Training: Military personnel are required to stay in very good physical condition, so some service members become personal trainers or fitness class instructors in their spare time.

4. Real Estate: Several military personnel have found success in real estate, namely buying homes, fixing them up, and then renting them out or selling them for a profit.

5. E-commerce: Another popular option is starting an online store or selling handmade items. You could create your products during your spare time and then sell them on platforms like Etsy or Amazon.

6. Ride-Share or Delivery Services: With flexible hours, you can work when it suits you, making it a good choice for those with unpredictable schedules.

Remember, ensure any part-time or side job doesn't conflict with your military duties and responsibilities. It's crucial to check with your superiors about any potential outside employment to be certain it's permitted under military regulations.
