How to get accepted into the US Naval Academy

I'm aiming to get into the US Naval Academy and would love some advice! What are the key things I should be focusing on in terms of academics, extracurriculars, and the application process?

You've set a great goal for yourself! The U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) is a prestigious institution, and the process of gaining entrance can be rigorous. Here are some key elements you should focus on.

1. Academic Performance: The USNA seeks students with excellent grades especially in rigorous coursework. It's important to challenge yourself with advanced classes like AP or IB courses, particularly in math and science. If you have a strong Academic Index, you'll have a better chance of your application being considered.

2. Physical Fitness: The Physical Fitness Examination (PFE) is a key part of the application process. You should work on maintaining a regular exercise regimen to ace this.

3. Leadership and Character: Demonstrating leadership and good character are essential. This could be through extracurriculars, where you held significant leadership roles. For instance, being a team captain or club president can help demonstrate these qualities.

4. Standardized Tests: You need to take the SAT or ACT. Scoring high on these tests can be a significant boost to your application.
