What are some military group jobs available for high school graduates?

I'm thinking about joining the military after high school instead of going to college. Can anyone explain what kind of group jobs are available in the military and what they generally involve? Any advice is appreciated.

There's a wide range of roles available in the military that you could consider as a high school graduate. These roles can commonly be grouped into categories like combat specialty, administrative support, healthcare, vehicle and machinery maintenance, transportation and aviation, and electronic and electrical equipment repair.

Combat specialty occupations prepare you for battlefield positions. These could include roles such as infantry and artillery.

Administrative support jobs are there to ensure the military functions well on a logistical and organizational level. This could include roles such as clerks, administrative assistants, and supply specialists.

Healthcare roles offer the opportunity to work in a medical capacity within the military. Roles could range from combat medics who provide first-aid on the battlefield to health care specialists who provide routine medical services.

Vehicle and machinery maintenance jobs involve repair and maintenance of military vehicles and equipment. This could include roles such as aircraft mechanics, automotive mechanics, and marine engine mechanics.

Transportation and aviation roles involve operation and maintenance of military equipment and vehicles, including aircraft, motor vehicles, and naval vessels.

The electronic and electrical equipment repair group involve maintaining communications equipment, computers, and other types of electronic devices that are critical in the military.

Remember, each role usually requires a period of specialist training after basic, and sometimes even more advanced, training. It would be beneficial to speak to a recruiter to get a better understanding of these roles and to see what might be the best fit for you based on your interests and skills. Each branch of the military has different requirements and benefits, so it's important to weigh out your options and decide which one fits your career goals and lifestyle the best.
